As a valued member of our surgical team, you will play a critical role in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of technical duties, including:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Organize and assemble the necessary supplies and equipment required for surgical procedures.
2. Prepare the sterile instrument table, ensuring it meets hospital standards.
3. Safely and meticulously prepare the patient's skin for surgery, following established protocols.
4. Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques, actively identifying and addressing situations that may compromise these practices.
5. Offer comfort and support to pre-operative patients to alleviate anxiety and enhance their experience.
6. Safely transport patients to and from the surgical suite.
7. Position patients appropriately, taking into consideration the specific requirements of the surgical procedure.
8. Assist the surgical team during procedures, which may involve passing instruments, sponges, and sutures.
9. Keep your work area clean, organized, and well-maintained.
10. Collect equipment for cleaning and sterilization to ensure proper hygiene and safety.
11. Participate in monitoring patient well-being throughout the surgical procedure.
12. Provide age and culturally appropriate care to patients, recognizing their unique needs.
13. Play a vital role in orienting and mentoring new staff members.
14. Follow Standard Precautions and wear personal protective equipment as necessary to ensure safety.

• Completion of a formal surgical technologist program or equivalent training.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is mandatory.
• Preference given to candidates with prior hospital Surgical Technologist experience.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain concentration during extended periods.
