Job Description: Join our team as a Registered Sonographer - Ultrasound in the picturesque Finger Lakes Region of New York. We are committed to delivering high-quality patient-centered care and providing a supportive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate sonographic equipment effectively and perform diagnostic examinations as ordered by physicians.
- Manage daily operations of the ultrasound department, including patient scheduling, equipment maintenance, and quality assessment.
- Maintain high medical ethics and continually increase understanding and knowledge of the field and new procedures.
- Use independent judgment to acquire optimal diagnostic information and accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams, ensuring patient safety and comfort during examinations.
- Assist physicians with invasive procedures using sterile technique when necessary.
- Prepare preliminary reports and communicate diagnostic information to referring providers as required.
- Maintain appropriate appearance and hygiene in the work area and adhere to Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program with eligibility to take the ARDMS exam.
- Active certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in the appropriate specialty.
- Current compliance with CME requirements for the specialty.
- Minimum one year of full-time experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
