Job Summary
- Maintains accountability for clinical, operational, and nursing management oversight for Adult Behavioral Services. R
- Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating all phases of nursing care provided on the program.
- Determines staffing requirements and material resources necessary to provide care to the patients on the program.
- Provides supervision of, assesses and evaluates the competence and performance of the nursing personnel.
- Participates in the recruitment and community education process Demonstrates expertise in mental health promotion and maintenance of high quality, comprehensive patient care.
- Assumes responsibility for the counseling and evaluation of nursing staff in an objective, consistent and timely manner.
- Provides direct supervision, guidance and support to nursing staff utilizing effective communication skills to address issues and seek feedback from staff.
- Schedules and maintains nursing staff assignments for 24-hour coverage on a regular basis.
- Maintains appropriate staffing patterns with the guidelines for assigned program to ensure optimum patient care and understanding FTE requirements for program and hospital.
- Works effectively with the CNO and Medical Director to monitor and evaluate program standards and guidelines.
- Functions as liaison between physicians and nursing staff to ensure optimum patient care.
- Demonstrates ability to develop and maintain open working relationships with all hospital employees
- Promotes integration of behavioral health throughout hospital by participating in hospital wide initiatives
- Assists with referral development and community education activities Monitors and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining and upgrading knowledge in psychiatric nursing by engaging activities that enhances current knowledge.
- Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations and standards, and assists in preparation for all regulatory surveys, promoting a culture of constant readiness.

- Keep professionally current, by attending continuing education programs, seminars, workshops, and/or independent research reading.
Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Must be Registered Nurse or Clinically Licensed
- Bachelors Degree required - Masters preferred
- Must have min 3 years of leadership behavioral health experience (required)
