Trauma Program Director - Level I Trauma Center Leadership Opportunity

Position Overview

Based in Virginia, this executive nursing leadership position oversees the complete operational function of our trauma program, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while driving continuous quality improvement and clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead trauma center verification processes and maintain compliance with ACS standards
  • Direct clinical protocols and practice management guidelines across the trauma care continuum
  • Oversee trauma registry operations and data management
  • Spearhead performance improvement initiatives and quality assurance programs
  • Develop and implement trauma education programs for staff and community
  • Manage operational, financial, and personnel aspects of the trauma program
  • Foster relationships with EMS agencies and community partners
  • Drive research initiatives and evidence-based practice implementation
  • Lead trauma system development at community, state, and national levels

Required Qualifications

  • BSN required (MSN preferred)
  • Current Virginia RN license
  • Minimum 3 years clinical nursing leadership experience in Trauma, ED, or ICU
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
  • CEN or CCRN certification (required within 2 years)
  • Proven experience in trauma program management and survey preparation
  • Strong background in regulatory compliance and performance improvement
  • Excellence in communication and interpersonal skills
