Senior Registered Nurse (RN II) - Medical/Surgical Unit
We're seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team in our Medical/Surgical Unit. As an RN II, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while contributing to our organization's commitment to healthcare excellence.
Core Responsibilities:
- Implement comprehensive nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, and evaluation
- Serve as Charge Nurse, demonstrating leadership in unit operations
- Coordinate and direct patient care activities with healthcare team members
- Develop and implement patient/family education programs
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols
- Maintain detailed clinical documentation and patient care records
- Mentor and guide junior nursing staff
Qualifications:
- Current RN license or eligibility for licensure in Virginia
- Associate Degree in Nursing (RN Diploma, ASN, or ADN) required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Current BLS/ACLS certification
Professional Development Requirements:
- Complete annual mandatory and unit-specific competencies
- Participate in Professional Practice Ladder activities
- Maintain current professional portfolio with annual submission
- Attend continuing education programs and professional development workshops
