Clinical Laboratory Manager - Blood Bank Services (MLS/MT/SBB)

A prestigious healthcare facility in the Greater Minneapolis area seeks an experienced Clinical Laboratory Manager to lead our Blood Bank and Transfusion Services department. This role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities in a state-of-the-art laboratory setting.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Direct daily operations of the Blood Bank and Transfusion Services department
• Manage and mentor technical staff while ensuring regulatory compliance
• Oversee quality control programs and maintain laboratory accreditation
• Collaborate with medical staff on complex cases and transfusion protocols
• Implement and maintain standard operating procedures
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and technology adoption
• Manage inventory and resources effectively

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related Physical/Biological Science field
• ASCP certification or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of Blood Bank experience
• 2+ years of Blood Bank supervisory experience
• 1 year of high-complexity immunohematology testing experience
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (AABB, CAP, FDA)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in related field
• Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) certification
• 8+ years of Blood Bank experience
• 4+ years of supervisory experience
• Experience in high-volume hospital setting
• Blood bank reference laboratory experience
