Director of Infection Prevention & Control | Healthcare Leadership

Position Overview
As the Director of Infection Prevention, you will provide strategic leadership for our hospital-wide infection prevention program, ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance while driving continuous quality improvement initiatives. This key leadership position combines clinical expertise with program management to create and maintain a safe healthcare environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the hospital's comprehensive infection prevention program, including surveillance, analysis, and reporting systems
- Develop and implement evidence-based infection prevention policies and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements
- Drive quality improvement initiatives through data analysis and implementation of best practices
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with infection control standards
- Manage outbreak investigations and response protocols
- Provide expert consultation on infection prevention matters to all departments
- Direct staff education and training programs related to infection prevention
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Joint Commission standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health-related field (Microbiology, Epidemiology, or Healthcare Administration)
- Current CIC (Certification in Infection Control) certification
- 5+ years of infection prevention experience in a clinical setting
- 2+ years of healthcare leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (CDC, OSHA, Joint Commission)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in related field
- Experience with electronic surveillance systems
- Background in quality improvement methodologies
