Director of Infection Prevention & Control | Healthcare Leadership

Position Overview

As the Director of Infection Prevention, you will provide strategic leadership for our hospital-wide infection prevention program, ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance while driving continuous quality improvement initiatives. This key leadership position combines clinical expertise with program management to create and maintain a safe healthcare environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the hospital's comprehensive infection prevention program, including surveillance, analysis, and reporting systems
  • Develop and implement evidence-based infection prevention policies and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives through data analysis and implementation of best practices
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with infection control standards
  • Manage outbreak investigations and response protocols
  • Provide expert consultation on infection prevention matters to all departments
  • Direct staff education and training programs related to infection prevention
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and Joint Commission standards

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health-related field (Microbiology, Epidemiology, or Healthcare Administration)
  • Current CIC (Certification in Infection Control) certification
  • 5+ years of infection prevention experience in a clinical setting
  • 2+ years of healthcare leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (CDC, OSHA, Joint Commission)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in related field
  • Experience with electronic surveillance systems
  • Background in quality improvement methodologies
