Director of Infection Prevention & Control - Leading Academic Medical Center
Join our prestigious 612-bed academic medical center and children's hospital as our next Director of Infection Prevention. Lead a dedicated team in developing and implementing cutting-edge infection prevention strategies while working with top healthcare professionals in Augusta, Georgia.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee comprehensive infection prevention programs across the medical center
- Lead surveillance, monitoring, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections
- Ensure compliance with TJC, CMS, OSHA, and state regulatory requirements
- Manage outbreak investigations and response protocols
- Supervise and mentor a team of 4 infection prevention professionals
- Collaborate with CDC, state, and county health departments
- Develop and implement evidence-based infection control policies
- Lead educational initiatives for healthcare staff
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred in Public Health or related field)
- Current RN license (Georgia licensure required within 6 months)
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
- 5+ years of infection prevention experience
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Proven experience in data analysis and epidemiological methodology
- Experience in a large acute care setting
