Emergency Department Nurse Manager - Level I Trauma Center

We're seeking an experienced and dynamic Emergency Department Nurse Manager to lead our high-performing ER team at our state-of-the-art medical facility in Tennessee. This role offers the opportunity to shape emergency care delivery while leading a dedicated team of healthcare professionals in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

Position Overview

As the ER Nurse Manager, you will oversee daily operations, ensure clinical excellence, and lead a team of 45 direct reports within our emergency department. This leadership role combines clinical expertise with operational management to deliver outstanding patient care.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a dynamic team of 64 FTEs, including full-time and PRN staff
  • Implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and workforce development initiatives
  • Drive operational excellence through performance improvement projects
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain clinical standards
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care delivery
  • Handle conflict resolution and address patient/family concerns
  • Oversee department budget and resource allocation
  • Maintain positive relationships with physicians and other healthcare partners

Required Qualifications

  • Current Tennessee RN license or compact state licensure
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department clinical experience
  • 1-3 years of clinical leadership experience
  • BCLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Emergency Nursing Certification (CEN)
  • Prior experience in Level I Trauma Center
  • Additional certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC
