Clinical Blood Bank Manager (MLS/MT) - Lead Transfusion Services

A prestigious healthcare institution in beautiful Indianapolis, IN is seeking an experienced Clinical Blood Bank Manager to lead their state-of-the-art Transfusion Services department. Essential Responsibilities:

• Direct daily operations of the Blood Bank/Transfusion Services department
• Supervise and mentor laboratory staff, ensuring adherence to quality standards
• Oversee complex immunohematology testing and blood component therapy
• Manage regulatory compliance with AABB, CAP, and FDA requirements
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality initiatives
• Collaborate with medical staff and hospital leadership
• Participate in performance improvement activities

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field
• ASCP or equivalent board certification
• 5+ years of Blood Bank experience
• 2+ years of Blood Bank supervisory experience
• 1+ year experience in high-complexity immunohematology testing
• Strong leadership and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree
• Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) certification
• 8+ years of Blood Bank experience
• 4+ years of supervisory experience
• Experience in blood bank reference laboratory
• High-volume hospital laboratory experience
