Assistant Director of Healthcare Facility Management
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Facility Management to join our healthcare organization. This role combines technical expertise in building operations with leadership skills to ensure our facility maintains the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Position Overview
As the Assistant Director of Facility Management, you will work directly with the Director to oversee daily operations, manage staff, coordinate projects, and ensure regulatory compliance across our healthcare facility. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development in healthcare facility management.
Core Responsibilities
- Partner with the Director to manage daily facility operations and maintenance programs
- Oversee departmental budget planning and execution
- Lead and develop a team of maintenance technicians and managers
- Coordinate maintenance schedules, repairs, and renovation projects
- Manage vendor relationships and contractor oversight
- Ensure compliance with healthcare facility regulations and safety standards
- Implement and maintain emergency management protocols
- Supervise building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and medical gases
- Manage computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facility Management, or related field
- 5+ years of healthcare facility management experience
- Proven leadership experience managing technical teams
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements (Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.)
- Experience with building systems and preventive maintenance programs
- Excellent project management and budget oversight skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CHFM, CHC, or CHE certification
- Experience with healthcare construction projects
- Knowledge of energy management systems
- Background in emergency management
