Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist - Night Shift (7-on/7-off)
Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist at our leading medical center. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide critical pharmaceutical care in a fast-paced emergency medicine environment while working a predictable 7-on/7-off night shift schedule.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services in adult and pediatric emergency settings
- Participate in bedside rounds and respond to trauma and medical emergencies
- Collaborate with Emergency Department healthcare providers to optimize patient care
- Precept PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residents during night shift rotations
- Support resident research projects and medication use evaluations
- Manage medication inventory and automated dispensing cabinet operations
- Provide clinical consultations and medication therapy recommendations
- Deliver education to patients, nurses, and healthcare providers
Required Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution
- Completion of ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency
- Current Virginia pharmacist license or eligible for licensure within 90 days
- Strong clinical decision-making and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- PGY2 residency in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care
- Previous emergency medicine or critical care experience
- Teaching and precepting experience
