Director of Perioperative Services & Surgical Operations
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic healthcare leader to join our organization as Director of Surgical Services. In this crucial leadership role, you will oversee all perioperative services while ensuring exceptional patient care, operational excellence, and team development. This position offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing surgical department in a growing healthcare environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all surgical services, ensuring 24/7 department coverage
- Drive clinical excellence and maintain regulatory compliance with all healthcare standards (Joint Commission, CMS, state requirements)
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, including capital equipment planning and resource allocation
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and monitor key performance indicators for surgical services
- Build and maintain strong relationships with surgeons, staff, and interdepartmental stakeholders
- Implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and surgical outcomes
- Mentor, coach, and develop surgical services team members while fostering a positive work culture
- Drive strategic growth initiatives and program development for surgical services
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required
- Current RN license in state of practice
- Minimum 3 years of perioperative leadership experience
- Strong understanding of surgical operations, regulatory requirements, and healthcare quality metrics
- Demonstrated success in team leadership and program development
- Excellence in communication, problem-solving, and relationship building
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration
- CNOR certification (Certified Nurse Operating Room)
- CSSM certification (Certified Surgical Services Manager)
- Experience with surgical service line growth and program development
