Director of Surgical Services & Perioperative Operations

A leading healthcare facility is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Surgical Services to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of our state-of-the-art surgical department. Position Overview

As Director of Surgical Services, you will provide 24/7 leadership for all perioperative services, ensuring exceptional patient care, operational excellence, and team development. This key leadership position is responsible for strategic planning, quality management, and maintaining regulatory compliance across surgical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct all perioperative operations, including OR, PACU, and sterile processing departments
• Develop and implement evidence-based clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives
• Lead strategic planning and execution of departmental goals aligned with organizational objectives
• Manage departmental budget, resource allocation, and performance metrics
• Foster a culture of excellence through staff development, mentorship, and engagement
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with surgeons, staff, and interdepartmental teams
• Drive continuous improvement in patient satisfaction and operational efficiency
• Oversee staff recruitment, retention, and professional development programs

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Current RN licensure in state of practice
• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in surgical services/OR management
• Proven track record in perioperative leadership within an acute care setting
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration
• CNOR certification
• Experience with surgical service line development
• Background in process improvement methodologies
