Director of Infection Prevention & Control - Healthcare Leadership
A leading academic medical center seeks an experienced Director of Infection Prevention to lead our comprehensive infection control programs across our 612-bed facility, including our Children's Hospital. This key leadership position will drive organizational excellence in infection prevention while ensuring regulatory compliance and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and oversee all infection prevention and control initiatives across the organization
- Lead a team of 4 direct reports in implementing evidence-based infection prevention practices
- Develop and maintain surveillance systems to monitor healthcare-associated infections
- Ensure compliance with TJC, CMS, OSHA, and state regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with CDC and local/state health departments during outbreak investigations
- Design and deliver infection prevention education programs for healthcare staff
- Analyze infection control data and present findings to leadership
- Guide policy development and implementation of best practices
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field
- Current RN license (Georgia licensure required within 6 months)
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
- 5+ years of infection prevention experience in acute care settings
- 2+ years of leadership experience
- Proven experience with epidemiology and infectious disease management
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Public Health or related field
- Experience in academic medical center environment
- Track record of successful program development
