Emergency Department Nurse Manager - Level II Trauma Center
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Emergency Department (ED) Nurse Manager to lead our fast-paced, 24/7 emergency care unit. As a key member of our leadership team, you will oversee clinical operations, staff development, and quality patient care initiatives while fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of 45 direct reports and 64 total FTEs in a high-volume emergency department
- Drive clinical excellence through implementation of evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives
- Oversee daily operations, including staffing optimization, workflow management, and resource allocation
- Develop and mentor nursing staff while promoting professional growth and clinical competency
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care delivery and outcomes
- Manage departmental budget and resources effectively
- Handle conflict resolution and customer service matters with professionalism
- Participate in strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Current Tennessee RN license or compact state licensure
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department clinical experience
- 1-3 years of progressive clinical leadership experience
- BCLS certification (or instructor status within 30 days of hire)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop healthcare teams
