Director of Surgical Services & Perioperative Operations

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Surgical Services to lead our state-of-the-art perioperative department. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee all aspects of surgical operations while driving excellence in patient care, team development, and operational efficiency. This position offers comprehensive oversight of the perioperative environment with 24/7 accountability.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of all surgical services departments
• Develop and implement evidence-based clinical programs to ensure exceptional patient care outcomes
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and maintain regulatory compliance with accreditation standards
• Drive operational excellence through performance metrics, resource optimization, and budget management
• Build and mentor high-performing teams through effective leadership development and succession planning
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, staff, and interdepartmental leaders
• Spearhead innovative solutions for process improvement and patient experience enhancement
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies

Required Qualifications:

• BSN degree from an accredited institution
• Current RN licensure in state of practice
• Minimum 3 years of progressive leadership experience in surgical services
• Strong understanding of perioperative operations and surgical workflows
• Proven track record in staff development and operational management
• Excellence in communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
• CNOR and/or CSSM certification
• Experience with electronic health records and surgical scheduling systems
• Background in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
