Position Overview
As the L&D Nurse Manager, you will provide 24/7 operational leadership for our Labor and Delivery unit, fostering an environment of clinical excellence and evidence-based nursing practice. This role combines clinical expertise with strategic leadership to ensure optimal patient outcomes and staff development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of L&D nurses while maintaining clinical excellence and patient safety standards
- Develop and implement evidence-based care protocols and quality improvement initiatives
- Manage departmental operations, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation
- Drive patient satisfaction and quality metrics through strategic planning and staff development
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care outcomes
- Oversee unit-specific performance improvement projects and safety initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Current Texas RN license or compact license
- Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Minimum 2 years recent acute care L&D RN leadership experience
- BLS/ACLS certification
- Strong clinical and operational leadership abilities
- Excellence in communication and team building
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related field
- National Specialty Certification in Labor and Delivery nursing
- Progressive leadership experience in maternal care
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives
