Clinical Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery Unit

Position Overview

As the L&D Nurse Manager, you will provide 24/7 operational leadership for our Labor and Delivery unit, fostering an environment of clinical excellence and evidence-based nursing practice. This role combines clinical expertise with strategic leadership to ensure optimal patient outcomes and staff development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of L&D nurses while maintaining clinical excellence and patient safety standards
  • Develop and implement evidence-based care protocols and quality improvement initiatives
  • Manage departmental operations, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Drive patient satisfaction and quality metrics through strategic planning and staff development
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care outcomes
  • Oversee unit-specific performance improvement projects and safety initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Current Texas RN license or compact license
  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Minimum 2 years recent acute care L&D RN leadership experience
  • BLS/ACLS certification
  • Strong clinical and operational leadership abilities
  • Excellence in communication and team building

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related field
  • National Specialty Certification in Labor and Delivery nursing
  • Progressive leadership experience in maternal care
  • Experience with quality improvement initiatives
