Assistant Director of Healthcare Facility Management

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Facility Management to join our healthcare organization. In this critical role, you will support the Director of Facility Management in overseeing all aspects of facility operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance for our healthcare campus. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a significant impact on our facility's operational excellence and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Director to manage daily operations of the facility management department, including budget oversight and team leadership
  • Supervise and develop facility maintenance staff through training, performance evaluations, and succession planning
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs and work order management using CMMS systems
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including Environment of Care, Life Safety Code, and OSHA standards
  • Manage vendor relationships, including RFP creation, bid reviews, and contractor oversight
  • Lead construction and renovation projects while maintaining operational continuity
  • Implement energy efficiency initiatives and sustainable facility practices
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness programs and safety protocols

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facility Management, or related field
  • 5+ years of healthcare facility management experience, including supervisory role
  • Demonstrated experience with healthcare-specific systems (HVAC, medical gas, electrical)
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements and compliance standards
  • Proven project management skills and budget administration experience
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CHFM, CHC, or CHE certification
  • Experience with healthcare construction projects
  • Knowledge of energy management systems
  • Emergency management experience
