Clinical Laboratory Manager - Blood Bank Services (MT/MLT)

A leading healthcare institution is seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Manager to oversee our Blood Bank and Transfusion Services department. This role combines technical expertise in immunohematology with strong leadership abilities to ensure the highest standards of patient care and laboratory operations.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Direct daily operations of the Blood Bank and Transfusion Services laboratory
• Manage and mentor a team of medical technologists and laboratory professionals
• Ensure compliance with AABB, CAP, and other regulatory requirements
• Oversee quality control programs and maintain standard operating procedures
• Coordinate with medical staff regarding complex serological cases
• Implement and maintain laboratory safety protocols
• Manage inventory and resource allocation
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science field
• ASCP or equivalent board certification
• Minimum 5 years of Blood Bank laboratory experience
• 2+ years of Blood Bank supervisory experience
• 1 year of experience in high complexity immunohematology testing
• Strong knowledge of blood banking principles and transfusion medicine

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in related field
• Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) certification
• 8+ years of Blood Bank experience
• 4+ years of supervisory experience
• Experience in high-volume hospital clinical laboratory setting
• Blood bank reference laboratory experience
