Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse III - Surgical Services

Core Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary patient advocate throughout cardiac surgical procedures
• Maintain sterile technique and assist in complex cardiac surgeries
• Coordinate with surgical team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Manage surgical equipment and supplies, including documentation and inventory
• Perform circulating and scrub nurse duties as needed
• Monitor and operate sophisticated surgical equipment and technology
• Document patient care using electronic medical records
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and participate in unit committees
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to educational programs

Qualifications:

• BSN required, MSN preferred
• Current RN license in Virginia (multi-state or single-state)
• Minimum 3 years (5,616 hours) of RN experience
• BLS Certification (AHA Healthcare Provider)
• Cardiac surgery experience strongly preferred
• Relevant specialty certification preferred (CNOR, CVOR)
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds
• Extended periods of standing and walking
• Manual dexterity for precise instrument handling
• Visual acuity for monitoring surgical procedures
• Physical stamina for long surgical cases
