Pulmonary Function Technologist - Respiratory Care Specialist
Join our growing healthcare team as a Pulmonary Function Technologist where you'll play a vital role in diagnosing and treating patients with respiratory conditions. In this position, you'll utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment while working alongside experienced healthcare professionals in our modern Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) Laboratory.
Core Responsibilities:
- Execute complex diagnostic pulmonary procedures using both invasive and non-invasive techniques
- Perform comprehensive pulmonary function tests including spirometry, body plethysmography, and diffusion studies
- Maintain and calibrate specialized diagnostic equipment to ensure accurate test results
- Document detailed test results in electronic medical records and maintain quality control data
- Provide educational support to medical residents and respiratory care students
- Coordinate and participate in community health fairs and outreach programs
- Manage laboratory supplies and inventory
- Support the respiratory therapy department as needed based on staffing requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree from a CoARC-approved respiratory therapy program
- Current respiratory therapy license
- AHA BLS-HCP certification
- Ability to obtain CPFT certification within first year of employment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent documentation abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of clinical respiratory care experience
- Prior experience with pulmonary function testing
- AHA ACLS certification
- Experience with electronic medical records systems
