Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse - Level III

Essential Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary patient advocate during cardiac surgical procedures
• Maintain strict sterile technique and aseptic standards
• Coordinate with surgical team members for optimal patient positioning and safety
• Manage and operate advanced surgical equipment and monitoring systems
• Perform accurate specimen handling and documentation
• Execute precise instrument and supply counts
• Document patient care in electronic medical records
• Function in scrub nurse role when required, managing sterile field and instrumentation
• Demonstrate leadership through charge nurse duties and committee participation
• Cross-train and float to non-cardiac specialties as needed

Qualifications and Requirements:

• BSN required, MSN preferred
• Current RN license in Virginia (multi-state or single-state)
• Minimum 5,616 hours of RN experience
• Current BLS certification (AHA Healthcare Provider)
• Cardiac surgery specialty certification preferred
• Strong physical stamina to handle demands of extended surgical procedures
• Excellence in clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication
• Proven leadership abilities and team collaboration skills
