As an MRI Technologist, you will perform MRI exams competently, ensuring consistent outcomes in accordance with established imaging protocols. You will be responsible for patient safety, high-quality imaging, and adherence to clinical guidelines.
Conduct MRI exams per established protocols under the supervision of the administrator and MRI staff.
Verify patient identity and review MRI screening forms to ensure safety.
Obtain patient history and explain procedures to patients.
Position patients and set up protocols for MRI scans.
Administer intravenous contrast injections per NYS certification requirements.
Ensure accurate dosing based on patient age and specific MRI protocols.
Conduct quality assurance (QA) procedures and research projects as directed by physicians.
Review images for technical and diagnostic accuracy.
Utilize PACS system for image management.
Manage billing and patient tracking using EPIC.
Follow all ACR, NYSDOH, and institutional policies and procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and stocking of MRI areas.
Assist fellow coworkers and perform additional duties as needed.
Associate’s Degree in Medical Radiography or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
ARRT Certification (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) required.
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
Contrast Injection Certification required.
ARRT Board Certification for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) or eligibility to obtain certification.
Two years of MRI experience or clinical training preferred.
