Position Overview
As a Clinical Staff I Pharmacist on our midnight shift, you'll be part of our core clinical pharmacy team, delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical services across multiple hospital areas, including our central pharmacy, admixture center, and cardiovascular tower satellite pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical pharmacy services during overnight operations
- Manage pharmacokinetic consultations and medication therapy monitoring
- Respond to code situations and provide emergency medication support
- Address clinical queries from healthcare providers and nursing staff
- Oversee sterile compounding operations in the admixture center
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards
- Participate in multidisciplinary clinical decision-making
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited institution
- Current Virginia pharmacist license or eligible for licensure within 90 days of hire
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency
- Hospital pharmacy experience
- Experience with sterile compounding
- Clinical monitoring and consultation experience
