Cardiac Monitoring Technician II - Emergency Department

In this critical role, you'll be responsible for providing continuous cardiac monitoring and ensuring patient safety through expert ECG interpretation and swift response to cardiac events. Core Responsibilities:
- Monitor and interpret real-time cardiac rhythms for emergency department patients
- Provide immediate response to life-threatening arrhythmias and critical alarms
- Analyze and document ECG strips, ST segments, QT intervals, and vital signs
- Communicate significant cardiac events to nursing staff following established protocols
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and provide detailed shift handoff reports
- Assist in training new staff and support continuing education initiatives
- Ensure compliance with Clinical Alarm Standards and departmental policies
- Coordinate with healthcare team for patient transport and monitoring continuity
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- AHA BLS-HCP certification (required within 60 days of hire)
- Successful completion of Annual Cardiac Monitor Assessment
- Strong computer skills and EMR proficiency
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced emergency environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cardiac Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) certification
- One year of cardiac monitoring experience
- Prior emergency department experience
- Advanced cardiac monitoring course completion
