Operating Room Surgical Technologist - CST

Essential Responsibilities:

• Expertly manage surgical instrumentation and maintain sterile field integrity during procedures
• Perform precise instrument passing and anticipate surgical team needs
• Execute accurate surgical counts for instruments, sponges, and sharps
• Collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Engage in ongoing professional development and unit education

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Current certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
• Registration with VA Department of Health Professions
• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
• Strong understanding of surgical procedures and instrumentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
