Trauma Program Director - Level I Trauma Center Leadership Opportunity

Position Overview

As Trauma Program Director, you'll oversee all aspects of our trauma program, ensuring compliance with Virginia Department of Health standards while driving clinical excellence and program growth. This role combines clinical leadership, program management, and strategic planning to deliver outstanding trauma care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead trauma center verification processes and maintain compliance with state and national standards
  • Direct clinical protocols, practice guidelines, and quality initiatives across the trauma care continuum
  • Oversee trauma registry operations and data management for continuous quality improvement
  • Develop and implement trauma education programs for staff and community stakeholders
  • Manage performance improvement initiatives and outcomes monitoring
  • Foster relationships with emergency services and community healthcare partners
  • Drive research initiatives and evidence-based practice implementation
  • Lead and mentor trauma program staff members

Required Qualifications

  • BSN required; MSN preferred
  • Current Virginia RN license
  • Minimum 3 years clinical nursing leadership in Trauma, ED, or ICU settings
  • Demonstrated experience in trauma program management and survey preparation
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
  • CEN or CCRN certification (required within 2 years)
  • Strong regulatory knowledge and performance improvement experience
  • Excellence in communication and interdisciplinary collaboration
