Cardiac Monitoring Technician II - Emergency Department

Position Overview

As a Cardiac Monitoring Technician II, you'll be responsible for continuous ECG monitoring, arrhythmia detection, and critical patient safety oversight in our fast-paced Emergency Department environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret real-time cardiac rhythms for multiple patients simultaneously
• Identify and respond to cardiac arrhythmias and critical events within established protocols
• Evaluate ST segments, QT intervals, SpO2 waveforms, and BP measurements
• Document findings and maintain accurate electronic medical records
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding patient status changes
• Manage alarm parameters and ensure continuous monitoring compliance
• Participate in new employee orientation and training
• Maintain strict adherence to patient safety protocols

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• AHA BLS-HCP certification (required within 60 days of hire)
• Successful completion of Annual Cardiac Monitor Assessment
• Strong computer skills and EMR proficiency
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Cardiac Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) certification
• One year of cardiac monitoring experience
• Previous Emergency Department experience
