Certified Athletic Trainer - Sports Medicine

Position Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Schedule: Flexible hours with overtime availability
Compensation: Competitive, commensurate with experience. $52 - $72,000

You'll play a vital role in the prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, working in schools, clinics, and at local sporting events.


Key Responsibilities

  • Apply evidence-based practices in the prevention, care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries

  • Deliver education to athletes, coaches, parents, and medical staff on injury prevention and care

  • Provide on-site support at schools, clinics, and sporting events per scheduling agreements

  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to support optimal patient care

  • Use appropriate equipment and devices for injury prevention and conditioning

  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient records in line with healthcare protocols

  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism in every interaction


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field

  • New York State License and Registration as a Certified Athletic Trainer

  • NATABOC Certification (BOC-ATC)

  • BLS Certification (completed during clinical orientation through RQI system)

  • Must be at least 21 years old per NYS regulations

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently

  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel, PowerPoint


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Athletic Training or related field

  • 1–2 years of experience as an Athletic Trainer in high school, collegiate, or clinical settings

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and healthcare documentation systems

  • Flexibility with locations, duties, and scheduling
