Senior Registered Nurse (RN II) - Medical/Surgical Unit

We're seeking an experienced, compassionate Registered Nurse (RN II) to join our dedicated healthcare team at Valley Health. As a Senior RN, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while mentoring fellow healthcare professionals and contributing to our culture of clinical excellence.

Core Responsibilities:

• Execute comprehensive nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, and evaluation
• Lead and coordinate patient care activities, including directing support staff
• Serve as Charge Nurse, demonstrating clinical leadership and decision-making
• Implement evidence-based nursing practices and quality improvement initiatives
• Develop and deliver patient/family education programs
• Participate in professional development activities and unit-specific committees
• Maintain detailed clinical documentation and electronic health records
• Create educational materials for staff and patient education

Required Qualifications:

• Current Virginia RN license or eligibility for licensure
• Associates Degree in Nursing (RN Diploma, ASN, or ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
• BLS certification
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proven leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Specialty certification in relevant field
• Charge nurse experience
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) proficiency
