Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive initial patient evaluations and assessments in an outpatient orthopedic setting
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's rehabilitation goals
Administer therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/cold therapy), and functional training
Provide patient education on exercise programs, injury prevention, posture correction, and home exercise protocols
Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including physicians, occupational therapists, and athletic trainers to optimize patient outcomes
Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans to achieve optimal functional recovery
Complete thorough documentation including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory standards
Educate patients and families on long-term wellness strategies and self-management techniques
Maintain clean, safe, organized treatment areas following infection control protocols and safety guidelines
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental training programs

Required Qualifications

Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an CAPTE-accredited physical therapy program required
Licensure: Valid New York State Physical Therapist license or eligibility to obtain licensure at time of hire
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
Experience: Prior outpatient physical therapy experience strongly preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient care and team collaboration
Strong organizational abilities and time-management skills in a fast-paced clinical environment
Clinical expertise in treating orthopedic, neurological, sports medicine, and musculoskeletal conditions
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistance
Physical ability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, and patient transfers during treatment sessions
Commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care

Preferred Qualifications

Specialty certifications in orthopedics, manual therapy, sports physical therapy, or related areas
APTA membership and continuing education participation
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) documentation systems
