Cardio ICU Nurse Manager - CVICU/Adult Critical Care Leadership Position

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all aspects of Adult Critical Care and Cardio ICU departments, including planning, organizing, delegating, directing, and evaluating nursing services
Align department operations with hospital mission, vision, and strategic facility goals to ensure optimal patient care delivery
Collaborate with interdisciplinary leadership teams, medical staff, and nursing personnel to coordinate comprehensive cardiovascular critical care services
Ensure all nursing care activities conform to recognized nursing techniques, established professional practice standards, and administrative policies
Develop, recommend, and implement policies, procedures, and programs that enhance quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of patient care
Maintain effective communication channels across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders
Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities
Manage departmental budgets, resources, and staffing to optimize operational efficiency
Champion evidence-based practice initiatives and quality improvement projects within the critical care specialty

Required Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of recent (within the last year) Acute Care CVICU/ICU leadership or management experience required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required; Master's degree (MSN) or advanced nursing degree strongly preferred
Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas or valid compact state license required
Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification required
Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider certification required
Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and/or Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) certification preferred
Demonstrated leadership abilities with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proven track record of staff development, conflict resolution, and team building in critical care settings
