Cardio ICU Nurse Manager - CVICU/Adult Critical Care Leadership Position

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of Adult Critical Care and Cardio ICU departments, including planning, organizing, delegating, directing, and evaluating nursing services
  • Align department operations with hospital mission, vision, and strategic facility goals to ensure optimal patient care delivery
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary leadership teams, medical staff, and nursing personnel to coordinate comprehensive cardiovascular critical care services
  • Ensure all nursing care activities conform to recognized nursing techniques, established professional practice standards, and administrative policies
  • Develop, recommend, and implement policies, procedures, and programs that enhance quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of patient care
  • Maintain effective communication channels across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources, and staffing to optimize operational efficiency
  • Champion evidence-based practice initiatives and quality improvement projects within the critical care specialty

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of recent (within the last year) Acute Care CVICU/ICU leadership or management experience required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required; Master's degree (MSN) or advanced nursing degree strongly preferred
  • Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas or valid compact state license required
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification required
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider certification required
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and/or Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) certification preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of staff development, conflict resolution, and team building in critical care settings
