Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Director – Leadership Opportunity in Cardiac Surgical Services

Join our top-tier healthcare facility as a Cardiovascular Operating Room Director and lead a dedicated team of 36 FTE professionals in delivering exceptional cardiac surgical services. As the CVOR Director, you'll drive clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and strategic growth while maintaining complete financial and managerial autonomy from general OR operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all cardiovascular operating room operations for a 6-room CVOR suite (5 traditional rooms and 1 hybrid OR)
  • Lead and mentor a team of 36 FTE nursing and surgical staff, fostering a professional practice environment and relationship-centered care
  • Develop and implement departmental goals aligned with the organization's strategic plan and cardiac service line objectives
  • Manage complete financial operations including budgeting, resource allocation, and cost optimization for the CVOR department
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, state agencies, and other accrediting bodies
  • Integrate evidence-based practice and clinical research into cardiovascular nursing operations and leadership processes
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives to achieve optimal patient outcomes, eliminate harm, reduce waste, and enhance patient experience
  • Utilize clinical, human resource, and financial data analytics to support strategic decision-making
  • Oversee and advance the nursing practice model specific to cardiovascular surgical services
  • Participate in executive leadership development programs and organizational governance

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) OR Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with MBA, MHA, or related healthcare administration degree
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in perioperative or cardiovascular services
  • National Nursing Leadership Certification (required within one year of hire or per signed commitment letter)
  • Proficiency with healthcare information systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), email, and electronic medical records
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and operational oversight
  • Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance and quality improvement methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in cardiovascular or cardiac surgical services
  • Current National Nursing Leadership Certification (CENP, NEA-BC, or equivalent)
  • Experience with cardiovascular service line development and growth strategies
  • Background in hybrid operating room management and advanced cardiac surgical technologies
