Position Overview

As the L&D Nurse Manager, you'll oversee daily operations, lead a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, and maintain the highest standards of patient-centered care. This role combines clinical expertise with leadership skills to create an environment of excellence in maternal and newborn care.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of L&D nurses and support staff
  • Implement and maintain evidence-based clinical practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Drive quality improvements through performance monitoring and benchmark achievement
  • Manage unit operations, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain accreditation standards
  • Foster interdisciplinary collaboration and communication
  • Champion patient experience initiatives and satisfaction metrics
  • Oversee clinical education and professional development programs
  • Manage departmental budget and resource utilization

Required Qualifications

  • BSN degree required (MSN preferred)
  • Current RN license in Texas or compact state eligibility
  • 3-5+ years of L&D nursing experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in acute care setting
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • NRP and FHM certifications preferred
  • RNC-OB certification (or obtained within 6 months)
