Job Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive initial patient evaluations and assessments in an outpatient physical therapy setting
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's rehabilitation goals and functional needs
Administer therapeutic interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, and modalities (ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat/ice therapy)
Provide patient education on exercise programs, posture correction, body mechanics, and injury prevention strategies
Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care
Monitor and document patient progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and measure outcomes to optimize recovery
Maintain accurate clinical documentation including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory standards
Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and self-management techniques for long-term wellness
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinic environment following infection control protocols and safety guidelines

Job Requirements

Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited physical therapy program required
Licensure: Current New York State Physical Therapist license or eligibility to obtain licensure at time of hire
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
Experience: Previous experience in outpatient physical therapy, orthopedic rehabilitation, or musculoskeletal treatment settings strongly preferred
Clinical Skills: Proficiency in manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise prescription, and use of physical therapy modalities
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively educate patients and collaborate with healthcare teams
Organization: Strong time-management, critical thinking, and organizational abilities in a fast-paced clinical environment
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistance; frequent standing, walking, bending, and patient transfers required
Patient Care: Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care to diverse patient populations
