Position Overview

Job Title: Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner – Occupational Health (Clinic Leadership)
Location: Albany, NY (with monthly travel to Syracuse, NY)
Schedule: Part-Time (0.8 FTE, 32 hours/week) | 4-Day Work Week (Monday–Thursday)
Work Model: Hybrid – 2 days in-clinic, 2 days telehealth
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Compensation: $92,000 – $147,004 annually (based on experience)
Employment Type: Direct Hire | No call, weekends, or holidays
EMR System: Epic

Job Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Patient Services:

Conduct comprehensive occupational health assessments and develop personalized treatment plans
Provide direct patient care for occupational and environmental health concerns in Albany and Syracuse
Collaborate with Medical Director, industrial hygienists, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams
Deliver evidence-based treatment and follow-up care using Epic EMR system

Clinic Leadership & Operations Management:

Design, launch, and manage a new Occupational and Environmental Medicine clinic
Develop clinic policies, procedures, and operational workflows from the ground up
Recruit, mentor, and supervise clinical and administrative staff
Oversee clinic budget, resource allocation, and quality assurance initiatives

Community Engagement & Partnership Development:

Serve as primary liaison to advisory boards and community stakeholders
Build strategic partnerships with local employers and occupational health organizations
Develop and deliver educational programs focused on workplace safety and wellness
Lead community integration initiatives to expand clinic reach and impact

Data Analysis & Performance Improvement:

Analyze and report on clinic performance metrics and patient outcomes
Design targeted outreach strategies to increase clinic visibility and referral volume
Lead continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives
Develop clinical algorithms and protocols to enhance care delivery

Regulatory Compliance & Research:

Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other occupational health regulations
Serve as regulatory resource and subject matter expert for staff and stakeholders
Critically appraise current research to guide evidence-based practice
Stay current on occupational medicine best practices and industry standards

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Current New York State Nurse Practitioner license (Family or Adult)
National board certification through AANP or ANCC
Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Active NPI number and Medicare enrollment (or eligibility within 6 months)
BLS Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner
Demonstrated leadership, analytical thinking, and strategic planning abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and make autonomous clinical decisions

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in Occupational Health or Occupational Medicine
Healthcare program development, clinic management, or administrative experience
Spanish language proficiency
Experience with Epic EMR system
Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
