Nursing Dean of Workforce Development - Leadership Role in Nursing Education
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Dean of Workforce Development to lead and manage nursing program operations at our dedicated workforce development site. This leadership position combines instructional excellence with strategic management responsibilities, offering the opportunity to shape the future of nursing education while directly impacting student success and community healthcare workforce development. Key Responsibilities
Program Management & Administrative Leadership:
- Provide comprehensive site supervision of nursing program activities and operations
- Support Regional Dean in planning, managing, and evaluating all nursing program aspects
- Oversee faculty, staff, and clinical site liaisons to ensure program quality and compliance
- Implement and manage program policies, procedures, and quality assurance initiatives
- Ensure adequate supplies, equipment, and resources align with program objectives
- Prepare data, materials, and reports for state Board of Nursing requirements and site visits
- Maintain accurate on-site student records and documentation systems
- Collaborate with Human Resources on faculty and staff personnel documentation
- Assist with nursing program admissions processes and nursing core orientation programs
Clinical Education Coordination:
- Assess clinical sites for patient safety, adequate staffing, and alignment with course learning objectives
- Conduct monthly meetings with Clinical Partners and Regional Dean to review clinical operations
- Coordinate with Clinical Education Management team to maintain and update facility contracts
- Provide feedback on student and faculty clinical performance through regular site visits
- Fill in for clinical instruction, skills lab, or simulation lab sessions as needed
Faculty Development & Academic Excellence:
- Support strategic planning and continuous assessment initiatives for program quality improvement
- Enhance instructional quality through innovative teaching methods and evidence-based practices
- Develop competencies in utilizing online learning activities and educational technologies
- Submit timely program reports and assessments to Regional Dean
- Attend or delegate representation at faculty meetings and professional development sessions
Student Success Initiatives:
- Develop comprehensive skills lab and clinical orientation programs with faculty and clinical partners
- Participate in planning and reviewing nursing student recruitment and admission strategies
- Attend national NCLEX success conferences and implement best practices
- Support student progression and retention through mentorship and intervention programs
Required Qualifications
Education & Licensure:
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) required
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or site-specific state (California licensure costs covered for relocating candidates)
- Current, unrestricted nursing license in good standing
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in collegiate nursing programs or nursing education
- Minimum 1 year of RN direct patient care clinical experience
- Demonstrated experience in nursing education administration preferred
- Experience with nursing program accreditation processes preferred
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership abilities with proven management and supervisory skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative leadership style with ability to build effective teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders
