Dean of Workforce Development - Nursing Program Leadership
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Dean of Workforce Development to provide instructional and management leadership for our nursing program. This critical leadership position offers the opportunity to shape the future of nursing education while supervising program activities, faculty, and clinical partnerships at our designated Workforce Development site. Working closely with the Regional Dean, you'll play a pivotal role in advancing workforce development initiatives and ensuring program excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management & Leadership:
- Support the Regional Dean in planning, managing, and evaluating all aspects of the nursing program
- Provide on-site supervision of nursing program activities and operations
- Oversee faculty, staff, and clinical site liaisons to ensure program excellence
- Manage and implement program policies, procedures, and compliance standards
- Ensure adequate supplies, equipment, and resources are available to meet program objectives
- Maintain comprehensive on-site student records and documentation
- Collaborate with Human Resources on faculty and staff documentation requirements
- Assist with student admissions processes and nursing core orientation programs
- Provide coverage for clinical instruction, skills lab, or simulation lab as needed
Clinical Coordination & Site Management:
- Assess clinical sites for safety compliance, adequate staffing, and alignment with course objectives
- Conduct monthly meetings with Clinical Partners and Regional Dean to review operations
- Coordinate with Clinical Education Management to maintain and update facility contracts
- Conduct regular site visits to provide feedback on student and faculty clinical performance
Faculty Development & Academic Excellence:
- Prepare comprehensive data and materials for state Board requirements, reports, and site visits
- Support strategic planning and assessment initiatives for continuous program quality improvement
- Enhance instructional quality through innovative teaching methods and best practices
- Develop proficiency in online learning platforms and integrate digital activities into curriculum
- Submit timely program reports and updates to Regional Dean
- Attend or delegate representation at faculty meetings and professional development sessions
Student Success & Recruitment:
- Develop comprehensive skills lab and clinical orientation programs with faculty and clinical partners
- Assist in planning and reviewing nursing student recruitment and admission strategies
- Participate in national NCLEX success meetings and implement best practices
- Support initiatives that promote student retention and academic achievement
Required Qualifications
Education & Licensure:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or site-specific state (relocation candidates welcome - CA licensure costs covered)
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) required
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in college-level nursing programs
- Minimum 1 year of direct patient care experience as a Registered Nurse
- Previous administrative or leadership experience in nursing education preferred
Skills & Competencies:
- Demonstrated strong leadership abilities and team management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative leadership style with proven ability to build partnerships
- Proficient in Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities
