Job Title: Dean of Workforce Development - Nursing Program Leadership | RN Required

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Dean of Workforce Development to lead our nursing program operations at a designated site. This leadership role combines instructional excellence with strategic management, offering the opportunity to shape the future of nursing education while directly impacting community healthcare workforce development. The ideal candidate will bring nursing expertise, educational leadership, and a collaborative approach to advancing program quality and student success.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management & Leadership:

  • Support the Regional Dean in planning, managing, and evaluating all aspects of the nursing workforce development program
  • Provide comprehensive site supervision of nursing program activities and daily operations
  • Oversee faculty, staff, and clinical site liaisons to ensure program excellence
  • Manage and implement program policies, procedures, and compliance standards
  • Ensure adequate supplies, equipment, and resources to meet program objectives
  • Assist the Regional Dean with implementing special projects and strategic initiatives
  • Fill in for clinical instruction, skills lab, or simulation lab as needed

Clinical Operations & Partnerships:

  • Assess clinical sites for safety, adequate staffing, and alignment with course objectives
  • Conduct monthly meetings with Clinical Partners and Regional Dean to review operations and outcomes
  • Coordinate with Clinical Education Management to maintain and update facility contracts and agreements
  • Provide feedback on student and faculty clinical performance during regular site visits

Faculty Development & Academic Quality:

  • Prepare comprehensive data and materials for state Board requirements, regulatory reports, and site visits
  • Support strategic planning and continuous assessment initiatives for program quality improvement
  • Enhance instruction quality through innovative teaching methods and evidence-based practices
  • Develop proficiency in utilizing online learning activities and educational technology
  • Submit timely program reports to the Regional Dean
  • Attend or delegate representation at faculty meetings and professional development sessions

Student Success & Recruitment:

  • Develop and coordinate skills lab and clinical orientation programs with faculty and clinical partners
  • Maintain accurate on-site student records and documentation
  • Assist in planning and reviewing nursing student recruitment and admission processes
  • Collaborate with the admissions team and participate in nursing core orientation
  • Attend national NCLEX success strategy meetings and implement best practices

Administrative & Compliance:

  • Collaborate with Human Resources on faculty and staff documentation and personnel matters
  • Ensure compliance with state nursing board regulations and accreditation standards
  • Maintain comprehensive records for regulatory and institutional requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support institutional mission and goals

Required Qualifications

Education & Licensure:

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) required
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California or site-specific state (California licensure costs covered for qualified relocating candidates)
  • Current RN licensure in good standing

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in college-level nursing programs
  • Minimum 1 year of RN direct patient care experience in clinical settings
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in nursing education preferred

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership abilities with demonstrated success in team management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative leadership style with ability to build partnerships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including students, faculty, and healthcare partners
  • Commitment to innovation in nursing education and workforce development
