Plant Manager - Automotive

Our client, a leading $400 million Automotive Tier 1 manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Plant Manager for their largest manufacturing facility in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role offers a competitive salary range of $180,000 - $210,000, with a 25% bonus and relocation assistance. The Plant Manager will oversee all plant operations, ensuring the timely delivery of quality products while optimizing costs to meet corporate and customer goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost Goals: Achieve plant objectives while fostering a culture of Trust, Respect, and Communication.
  • Department Coordination: Ensure cooperation among all departments to meet company policies and objectives.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze profit and loss variances and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Budget Compliance: Provide input for annual budget establishment and ensure adherence.
  • Purchasing Approval: Approve purchases of equipment, spare parts, materials, and machines.
  • Leadership and Development: Direct and develop Department Managers.
  • World Class Manufacturing: Lead plant activities to achieve World Class Manufacturing status.
  • Policy Compliance: Develop and enforce company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Problem-Solving Leadership: Resolve product, quality, operational, mechanical, and personnel issues.
  • Communication Program: Maintain effective communication to keep personnel informed and support union-free status.
  • Personnel Management: Oversee personnel reviews, salary changes, new hires, and organizational moves.
  • Operational Coordination: Coordinate production, distribution, warehousing, and sales.
  • Customer Relations: Engage with customers and industry representatives to enhance services.
  • Resource Efficiency: Develop plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
  • Cost and Quality Review: Monitor production costs and product quality to maintain profitability.
  • Market Development: Analyze competitors and direct sales programs to develop new markets.
  • Accounting Oversight: Direct preparation of accounting records and recommend budgets.
  • Supervision: Directly supervise department managers and oversee the business unit's overall direction.


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 10+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous Plant Management experience within the automotive industry preferred.
  • Exposure to TPS (Toyota Production System).
  • Experience with Tier 1 or 2 Japanese automotive customers preferred.
  • Extensive project management experience.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
