Process Engineer - Automotive Assembly

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join our innovative automotive assembly plant in Lansing, MI. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the optimization of powertrain manufacturing processes in a dynamic, global company.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support existing equipment on the production floor
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
• Create specifications for new equipment and manage changes with suppliers
• Lead validation of new equipment, processes, and product launches
• Troubleshoot complex machinery issues and propose innovative solutions
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to address operational challenges
• Conduct process improvement experiments and optimize raw material usage
• Participate in health, safety, and quality audit processes
• Develop and update work instructions, procedures, and safety documentation

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent)
• 1-2 years of engineering experience, preferably in an automotive assembly environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Windows, and database management
• Knowledge of SPC, automotive quality standards, and lean manufacturing principles
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and statistical experiments
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (5S, Kaizen)
