Salary: $120,000 - $145,000 + 10-15% Incentive Bonus
About the Role:
Are you an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering within the paper manufacturing industry? We’re seeking a results-driven Project Engineer to lead and manage mechanical projects across our paper machines, power and recovery, and OCC plant. This role involves working as part of a cross-functional team, executing capital improvement projects, and driving innovation to enhance operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee the installation of electrical/mechanical plant systems and equipment.
- Analyze product and equipment specifications to ensure optimal performance and manufacturability.
- Assess feasibility of new plant equipment or modifications, considering cost, space, and technical factors.
- Provide technical expertise on manufacturing techniques, materials, and long-term engineering strategies.
- Lead projects involving piping systems, structural steel, and civil design.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical machine issues in collaboration with the maintenance team.
- Conduct research and evaluate test results for new system applications and developments.
- Investigate equipment failures, diagnose malfunctions, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure all engineering projects align with safety, environmental compliance, quality, and continuous improvement goals.
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to implement operational procedures and technical improvements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
- Must have experience in paper manufacturing (Corrugated experience will not be considered).
- Proven track record in leading large-scale capital projects.
- Hands-on experience with start-up processes is a strong advantage.
- Expertise in mechanical systems, piping, and structural design.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
