Are you a hands-on, technically fluent engineering expert driven to push the boundaries of sensor and instrumentation technology? Join a pioneering team in Cambridge, MA as a Senior Hardware Instrument Engineer (PMTS), where you’ll lead the design and development of high-performance electro-mechanical, electro-optical, and MEMS-based sensor systems from concept to production.

As a Principal Member of Technical Staff (PMTS), you'll:
Act as a subject matter expert across precision instrumentation domains
Lead cross-functional teams to develop cutting-edge sensors and instruments
Evaluate complex customer requirements and propose innovative solutions
Develop and validate design concepts through modeling, prototyping, and experimentation
Define and manage instrumentation architecture and risk mitigation strategies
Guide the integration of precision hardware into larger systems with measurable success metrics
Drive early-stage manufacturing process development
Author and present high-impact technical documentation and test reports
Provide technical training to internal teams and external partners
10–15 years of hands-on experience in hardware instrument engineering or a closely related field
BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Applied Physics (MS or PhD preferred)
Expertise in electro-mechanical, electro-optical, or MEMS-based instrumentation
Proficiency in tools such as MATLAB, CAD, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Strong grasp of applied physics, advanced mathematics, and system integration
Stellar communication skills and a proven track record of cross-disciplinary collaboration
Ability to manage both technical detail and strategic direction simultaneously
