Civil/Structural Designer – CAD/BIM Drafting Professional | Akron, OH

Key Responsibilities
- Produce civil and structural design drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, and other industry-standard software
- Assist in developing design layouts for foundations, structural framing, site plans, and related civil/structural components
- Prepare construction-ready drawings that meet building codes, constructability standards, and multidisciplinary coordination requirements
- Collect and analyze field data, including site measurements, elevations, and as-built conditions
- Maintain high accuracy and quality control across all design deliverables and documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure cohesive and well-coordinated project outcomes
- Learn and apply emerging technologies such as GPS surveying, 3D laser scanning, and Building Information Modeling (BIM)
- Conduct occasional site visits to client facilities for meetings, field measurements, and data collection
- Manage multiple tasks and project deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Support project teams through accurate CAD modeling, drafting, and technical documentation
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of drafting or design experience in civil engineering or structural design (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
- Associate degree or vocational certification in Computer-Aided Drafting & Design (CADD), Civil Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D, Revit, or Navisworks is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify design discrepancies and conflicts
- Ability to learn new CAD/BIM tools, technologies, and field survey equipment
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional field visits
- Ability to pass background screening and drug testing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Capability to work safely in industrial field environments and navigate client facilities
- Must be able to commute consistently to the Akron, OH office (remote-only candidates cannot be considered)
