Civil Engineer - Land Development & Municipal Infrastructure | South Florida
Sun-Tech Engineering, Inc. (STE) is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in South Florida. Key Responsibilities
- Design and prepare comprehensive civil engineering plans, construction drawings, and technical specifications for residential and commercial land development projects
- Manage complex permitting processes and maintain compliance with city, county, state, and federal regulatory agencies
- Conduct detailed site evaluations, feasibility studies, and engineering due diligence reports
- Provide accurate cost estimating, project scheduling, and technical coordination throughout project lifecycles
- Perform construction administration and oversight to ensure quality control, regulatory compliance, and project efficiency
- Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives and design excellence
- Prepare stormwater management plans and drainage design in accordance with Florida regulations
- Review and analyze engineering reports, surveys, and technical documentation
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (required)
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida (strongly preferred) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification with ability to obtain PE
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in civil engineering with focus on land development, site design, stormwater management, or municipal infrastructure projects
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and civil engineering design software
- Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of Florida Building Code, South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) regulations, environmental permitting requirements, and local agency standards
- Professional Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective time management, and attention to detail
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget constraints
