Position Overview

As a Project Manager specializing in Civil Site Design, you'll oversee land development projects from initial concept through final municipal approval. You'll serve as both a technical leader and client liaison, managing multi-disciplinary teams while applying your deep knowledge of New Jersey land development regulations, stormwater management, and site engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage land development projects including multi-use, residential, commercial, and institutional developments from conception to completion
Oversee the municipal approval process and coordinate submissions with local planning and zoning boards throughout New Jersey
Design comprehensive site engineering solutions including stormwater management systems, grading plans, erosion and sediment control, and utility infrastructure
Prepare technical documentation including concept plans, detailed site plans, subdivision plans, engineering reports, and stormwater management calculations
Navigate permitting requirements with NJDEP and other regulatory agencies
Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery
Maintain consistent communication with clients, contractors, sub-consultants, and internal engineering teams
Mentor junior engineers and designers, fostering professional development and technical excellence
Conduct site visits and field observations to support construction administration activities
Perform quality control reviews of engineering plans and specifications

Required Qualifications

New Jersey Professional Engineer (PE) license required, or ability to obtain PE licensure immediately (Engineer-in-Training certification required)
5-10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience with focus on site design and land development
Extensive knowledge of New Jersey land development regulations, local ordinances, and NJDEP permitting requirements
Proven experience with stormwater management design, grading and drainage, erosion and sediment control, and utility coordination
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil engineering design and plan preparation
Working knowledge of HydroCAD or similar stormwater modeling software
Strong understanding of municipal approval processes including planning board and zoning board applications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client presentations and technical report writing
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
Proven project management capabilities with accountability for deliverables and deadlines
Team-oriented approach with ability to work independently and take initiative
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
