Node JS Developer - Lead

  • The position reports to the Director of User Interaction and User Experience within the firm.

This client seeks a Node.JS developer who is skilled and able to work independently and in a team setting, the ideal candidate will have extensive technical knowledge and be able to create, maintain, and update the front-end application stack that clients use for research, execution, and options management within the financial sector. This role requires proficiency in JavaScript, HTML and CSS. It also requires application development that focuses on user experience and performance. A front-end architect is also essential for the development of fault-tolerant, performant systems. As the Node.JS lead developer, this will have an immediate impact on the brand and clients' workflows. It will also continue to make an impact on our client's industry-wide reputation as a leader in application design and support within financial markets. 

  • Consistently design and test code according to best practices in web application development. This includes support for mobile and responsive sites. 
  • Implement security and data protection. 
  • Establish and validate testing schedules that address all browsers and devices. 
  •  Regular file backups are performed to local directories to recover files.

Who Will Be a Great Fit?  
  • Extensive experience in planning and developing web applications that work across multiple products and organizations
  • Working knowledge of programming languages and web applications such as CSS, CSS3, cross-browser compatibility, APIs, CSS5, JavaScript, and Node.JS. Security principles, REST, and web user interface design (UI).
  •  A good understanding of the nature and limitations of asynchronous programming is essential.
  • Commitment to creating innovative and sophisticated designs and solving collaborative problems together
  • Financial markets experience is a plus. 
  • Experience in project coordination roles.
  • Experience implementing and using modern web development workflows and operations using a variety of tools including GitHub
  •  A strong work ethic
  • Professional communication with end-users, assessment of requirements, and management of expectations
