Hybrid Systems Administrator

This position is expected to perform the following duties:

  • This position will work with the IT Manager to support the Infrastructure, Development, and Applications teams.
  • This role will be primary responsibilities will be to monitor and maintain systems and network infrastructure, provide support to business applications and databases, develop, and create documentation, assist with security operations, and automate to improve existing processes.
  • The individual will also act as level-2 support for IT services issues.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent technical troubleshooting and user service skills.
  • As a response to the pandemic, our Client's employees have transitioned to a hybrid working schedule, requiring employees to report in-person Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to telework on Monday and Friday each week.
  • Due to the collaborative, cross-functional nature of the organization, employees at the NY and NJ offices are required to work in person for the abovementioned days, outside of any People & Culture-approved disability accommodation request.
  • Provide tier 2 end-user and infrastructure support
  • Document technical issues and escalate to other IT teams as necessary
  • Monitor and assist in managing Virtual Server Environment (VMWare/Hyper-V/Azure)
  • Support and maintain Active Directory (On-prem and Azure), DHCP, DNS infrastructure
  • Support collaboration services on Office 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams), Zoom, Cisco Jabber, and MDM
  • Support and develop processes on cloud platforms such as Slack, Teams, ServiceNow, etc
  • Perform and verify backups
  • Conduct routine patching of servers
  • Automate IT processes using PowerShell and other scripting languages

Who Will Be a Great Fit?  
  • 3+ years in a support role in a corporate environment
  • Ability to write IT documentation and user manuals
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • Experience and knowledge of supporting Windows and OSX operating systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to occasionally travel to multiple sites (NY/NJ)
  • Basic knowledge of VMWare and Hyper-V
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages and PowerShell
  • Experience with cloud services is a plus (Azure, AWS, O365, ServiceNow, Teams etc)
  • Familiarity with MS SQL server or other database systems is a plus
