Systems Analyst - Reinsurance

Our Client is looking for a System and Data Analyst with experience in a Reinsurance system to join their support and enhancement team. Responsibilities include investigating user requests, supporting the Monthly Ceded Financial Close, developing requirements for system optimization, and acting as a reinsurance systems SME. Under the IT Director, the Analyst will team up with other analysts, developers, and key business stakeholders to deliver results.

Data Management & Monthly Processing Support
  • Resolve user inquiries related to data and system behavior in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with internal and external business partners and vendors
  • Use SQL to triage and perform data investigations
  • Support the Monthly Close
  • Have the ability to see downstream implications resulting from changes in scope and/or requirements.
  • Identified potential system and/or process optimizations.
  • Document business requirements.
  • Create training documentation as required
  • Effectively manage daily tasks to meet key deliverables.

Project Participation and Testing

  • Perform testing of Reinsurance System enhancements and defect fixes.
  • Act as an SME for Reinsurance and related systems
  • Understand proposed business solutions and provide technical insight.
  • Use SQL to analyze and test gross and ceded data.
  • Work with other IT teams and business partners to develop reports, QA test plans, and system enhancements

Effective Communication and Team Collaboration

  • Able to identify and escalate issues appropriately and provide timely progress updates.
  • Review designs by other team members and give constructive feedback in meetings or in written form when required.
  • Follow departmental standard operating procedures, and workflow processes and work in a transparent manner.

Who Will Be a Great Fit?  
  • AINS / CPCU designation or equivalent demonstrated Insurance Knowledge
  • Familiarity with treaty and facultative reinsurance business
  • Strong expertise with SQL Server
  • Demonstrated Excel skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of ReinsurancePro (URS) or other Reinsurance Systems and/or eReinsurance a plus.
  • Knowledge of Informatica is a plus.
